The Home

Blatt 1/4
"If the relationship between two homeowners turns sour, they can sell the HOME and split the money. But what about the works of art made in the HOME? What about the sunlight painted on the wall? Everyone believed in that light - friends, neighbours, artists...The terracotta paint covering up the accidental bullet hole hid the fact that guns had been fired. And not just those two works. Every corner of the HOME had become art, had become part of the homeowners LIVES. The HOME was a living being... What will the new homeowners do with it all? Will the HOME die? The HOME worries about itself immensely."

"If the relationship between two homeowners turns sour, one of them should leave.
He? sHe? Say sHe goes and leaves the HOME and some of her drawings to Him (sHe's an artist). SHe thought her drawings were worth more to her than any house... Long ago, before the HOME was alive, sHe thought that was the proper thing to do – leave Him some of the drawings and the HOME, split everything equally... If the relationship turned sour...
The HOME breaths easier: He will take care of him if sHe goes."

"If the realationship between two homeowners turns sour, they can turn the HOME into a business – a hotel, a restaurant, a museum. And then everything remains as is: the sunlight on the wall, the terracotta paint covering up the accidental gunshot – all the artworks in the HOME will be preserved... they will both leave the HOME, but the HOME will continue to serve them in a different role... The HOME ist intrigued by this new life."

"If the relationship between two homeowners turns sour, there should be an ounce of hope that things will work out...
You could, for example, cover all the scratches in the HOME from the past eight years together in gold paint and live on...
The HOME no longer worries about itself."
